A specialized report revealed a sharp decline in the number of labor protests in Jordan during 2025, with only 24 protests recorded compared to 51 in 2024 - a decrease of 53%.

Amman – A research report issued by the Phenix Center for Economic and Informational Studies under the Jordanian Labor Watch program calls for legislative reforms and comprehensive economic and social policies to advance women’s economic justice in the Jordanian labor market and address the structural challenges that limit their economic participation. The report was released on the occasion of International Women’s Day, observed annually on March 8.

The Phenix Center for Economic and Informatics Studies has affirmed that the proposed amendments to the Social Security Law for 2026 are incomplete and lack full integration. The Center is calling for the adoption of a comprehensive reform package that strikes a balanced approach among financial sustainability, social justice, and the expansion of insurance coverage. This would strengthen public confidence in the system and safeguard the rights of all beneficiaries.

Today, Monday, the Phenix Center for Economic and Informatics Studies, in collaboration with Action Against Hunger and the "Grow Economy" project coalition, launched the results of two policy papers addressing decent work conditions and gender-based violence in the Jordanian agricultural sector. This took place during a conference that discussed the key challenges facing agricultural workers (both men and women) and the required policies to improve the working environment in this vital sector.

The Phenix Center for Economic and Informatics Studies, in collaboration with the Oxford Internet Institute and funded by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), launched the results of two studies under the “Fairwork” project for 2025, highlighting the realities of working conditions for digital platform workers in Jordan.
