Labor Watch: Expanding Social Security Coverage Is Key to Reforming the Social Security System
A new policy brief issued by the Jordan Labor Watch at the Phenix Center for Economic and Informatics Studies stressed that expanding social security coverage should be the cornerstone of any genuine and sustainable reform of Jordan’s social security system. It called for moving beyond temporary and limited coverage-expansion programs toward permanent institutional reform that responds to the transformations taking place in the labor market and changing patterns of employment and income.
Experts Call for Better Health System Governance and Guaranteed Access to Medicines for Patients
Health sector experts and specialists have called for improving the governance of Jordan’s healthcare system and strengthening integration and coordination among the various institutions and entities responsible for managing and delivering health services. They said this would improve the efficiency of health spending and ensure that patients have timely access to the medicines and services they need, at the required quality.

These workers are essential to the day-to-day functioning of hospitals and health centers, ensuring operational continuity and maintaining safe healthcare environments.
Phenix Center Calls for Establishing a System to Guarantee a Minimum Income for Older People Not Covered by Pensions
The Phenix Center for Economic and Informatics Studies has called for the establishment of a national system that guarantees a minimum income for older people who do not receive any pension or regular source of income. The Center stressed that the presence of older people without regular income represents one of the most significant gaps in Jordan’s social protection system, making them more vulnerable to poverty, isolation, violence, and exploitation.
