Labor Watch- The Jordanian Labor Watch that related to Phenix Center for Economic and Informatics Studies called for a local movement to demand of adoption the ILO convention on violence and Harassment of Men and Women in the Workplace, which is expected to be discussed next June at the ILO Governing Council meeting and subsequently to bind member states, including Jordan to commit the content of this convention.
The Labor Watch, in a statement issued today, on the occasion of the start of the 16-day campaign against violence against women that celebrated annually by the world, which begins on 25 November and ends on 10 December, the importance of this Convention is its comprehensive framework that includes violence that the workers may be exposed, also, it pointed to the inclusion of other marginalized groups of workers, including migrant workers, persons with disabilities and children, expressing wondering at the lack of implementation of any local activities or programs to create a national dialogue on this agreement, although there was a discussion about it more than two years in the international circles.
