Phenix Center Launches Awareness Sessions in Madaba for Agricultural Workers and Employers on Decent Work
The Phenix Center for Economic and Informatics Studies has begun holding awareness sessions for workers and employers in the agricultural sector in Madaba Governorate on the topics of decent work and gender-based violence. These sessions were developed based on an assessment conducted by the Center on working conditions and occupational safety and health standards in the sector.

The sessions aim to raise awareness among workers and employers about their rights under labor and social security laws, including the Agricultural Workers Bylaw. They also seek to enhance their understanding of gender-based violence and to inform them about mechanisms for filing labor complaints in case of any violations in their workplaces.

These sessions are part of a project implemented by the Phenix Center under the title "Economic Development," funded by the French Development Agency (AFD), in cooperation with ACTED, Action Against Hunger (ACF), Terre des hommes (TDH), ECO Consult, and the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN), and coordinated with the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC).

The project aims to contribute to the economic empowerment of Syrian refugees and the most vulnerable Jordanians working in Jordan’s agricultural sector by improving working conditions and enhancing and diversifying income sources.
