Phenix Center Conducts Awareness Sessions for Agricultural Workers and Employers on Decent Work in Irbid

The Phenix Center for Economic and Informatics Studies conducted a series of awareness sessions for workers and employers in the agricultural sector in Irbid Governorate (Bani Kenana District), focusing on decent work and gender-based violence in Jordan’s agricultural sector.

The sessions aimed to raise awareness among workers and employers about their rights under the Labor Law, the Social Security Law, and the Agricultural Workers Bylaw. They also sought to enhance their understanding of gender-based violence issues and to strengthen their knowledge of how to file labor complaints in cases of workplace violations.

These sessions are part of the “Grow Economy” project implemented by the Phenix Center, funded by AFD, and carried out in collaboration with Acted, Action Against Hunger (ACF), Terre des hommes (TDH), ECO Consult, and the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN), and in coordination with the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC).

The “Grow Economy” project seeks to contribute to promoting sustainable, inclusive, and decent economic opportunities for vulnerable Syrian refugees and Jordanians working in Jordan’s agricultural sector. It does so by improving working conditions and enhancing access to diverse income sources. The Phenix Center is responsible for achieving the third strategic objective of the project, which focuses on promoting decent working conditions for workers in the agricultural sector in Jordan.
