Alhmaisat: Public vacancies table to be presented to the Prime Ministry by end of the month
labor watch - President of the Civil Service Bureau, Dr. Khalaf Alhmaisat said that his bureau would present the table of public vacancies for next year to the General Budget Department and the Prime Ministry for approval.

In a press statement to Al-Rai newspaper, Alhmaisat noted that public vacancies table for 2015 would be approved before the end of this year in combination with the 2015 General Budget Act to be enacted early next year.

He pointed out that creating new jobs in the said table would be at the minimum in line with Government directions to rationalize expenditures. Accordingly, only real and badly needed vacancies of ministries and departments would be considered.

Alhmaisat added that in view of the directive of the Prime Minister ordering ceasing appointments, no appointments would be made except for emergency cases and subject to prior approval by the Council of Ministers ensuring availability of financial allocations.

Furthermore, Alhmaisat said that initial competitiveness lists for applicants to third category vacancies would be approved within two weeks in preparation for the issuance of finally approved lists to fill the second batch of third category vacancies after receiving objections and observations for a week from the date of publishing the initial competitiveness lists.  He added that after the end of the said one week period, vacancies would be filled from approved competitiveness lists.

He went on stating that his Bureau received more than 13000 applications for the second batch of third category vacancies at Government departments and institutions for 2014 competing for 902 vacancies. Male applicants represented 62.95%, while female applicants represented 37.05%. Applications were received through representatives of the Civil Service Bureau who were present at Labor and Recruitment Directorates approved by the Ministry of Labor.
