The response to the teachers’ demands and the return of the students to school
Labor Watch- The Deputy Head of the Jordanian Teachers Syndicate, Nasser Al-Nawasrah, announced the end of the teachers' strike from Sunday morning and the resumption of classes in all schools in the Kingdom, after reaching an agreement with the government on the allowance.

The agreement consisted in a series of measures to enhance the living conditions of teachers, improve their performance and ensure the return of the students to their schools, reflecting positively on the educational process.

The agreement included granting teachers an allowance as follows:
1.Assistant teachers will receive a 35 percent bonus, a new bonus for the first time.
2.The rank of the teachers getting a 34 percent increase will now receive 40 percent.
3.First teachers will receive an increase in their allowance from 34 percent to 50 percent.
4.Expert teachers getting a 33 percent increase will now receive 65 percent.
5.Leader teachers - a new rank being created for the first time - will receive a bonus of 75 percent.

These bonuses will be implemented as of January 1st, 2020.
On the issue of reparation for students, Al-Nawasrah said that the union will agree with the Ministry of Education on a plan for this, stressing that the teachers are ready to compensate the students for all the lessons lost.
