Labor watch - Unemployment rate in the second quarter of this year reached 18 percent which is higher than the same period of the last year by 2.7%, and it declined 0.2 % from the first quarter of this year.
The results of the workforce survey conducted by the Department of Statistics show that the unemployment rate for males was 13.4% compared to 33.9% for females for the same period.
Considering of gender issue, it is obvious that the unemployment rate declined by 0.5% for males and rose by 0.9% during the second quarter of 2017 compared to the first quarter of the same year.
