The Phenix Center for Economic and Informatics Studies concluded a training course for agricultural workers on decent work standards in the agricultural sector and advocacy and lobbying campaigns, as part of the Empowering Work Pathways for Agricultural Workers in Jordan project.
The training aimed to raise the level of awareness of male and female workers in the agricultural sector about decent work standards within the Labor and Social Security Laws and the Agricultural Workers Law of 2021.
The training also aimed to enhance their awareness of advocacy and lobbying campaigns and how to create them to enable them to advocate for their rights and needs.
The training focused on the rights of agricultural workers under the Labor and Social Security Laws as well as the Agricultural Workers Law in terms of wages, working hours, employment contracts, occupational safety and health conditions, social protections, and other rights.
The training also focused on how to build advocacy and lobbying campaigns for agricultural workers, with the aim of strengthening their capacities to defend their rights.
The training course was attended by 150 male and female agricultural workers in the governorates of Irbid, Mafraq, and Zarqa.
