Labor Watch- On Thursday, the lawyers’ union implemented a vigil in front of the Palace of Justice, protesting the transfer of the Amman Court of Appeal to its new headquarters in the Al-Shmeisani area.
During the vigil, the union announced its rejection of the Ministry of Justice’s decision to move the Court of Appeal from the Palace of Justice in Abdali to another location in Al-Shmeisani, demanding that the situation be restored to what it was previously.
The lawyers opposed this decision as they would suffer the daily traffic jam with difficulties for parking, in addition to the fact that while the Magistrate’s Courts and Court of First Instance were only ten feet apart before, now it requires a much longer time to move from one to another.
For its part, the Ministry of Justice announced that a committee has been formed, including representatives of the Judicial Council, the Ministry of Justice and the lawyers’ union, in order to reach a satisfactory solution for all.
