Workers’ protest at the University of Science and Technology
Labor Watch - Today (Sunday), hundreds of workers at the University of Science and Technology carried out a protest in front of the building of the university presidency to demand an improvement in their living conditions.
The protesters are calling for several initiatives: to  include dental insurance within the health insurance, to establish 30 days of annual leave that would allow to take days-off on the working days (excluding Friday and Saturday as part of the vacation), to work on creating a model school and a kindergarten for the children of the university’s staff, to calculate the fees for the parallel programs on the basis of the gross salary, to reconsider the calculation process for daily workers and for the contracts provided that the duration of service amounts to less than a year.
The protesters also demand the reinstatement of the risk allowance for staff working in agriculture and for employees who had been excluded from it, in accordance with the social security, and the guarantee of an ISO allowance for administrative staff like the one paid to faculty members.
