Labor Watch - On Sunday, hundreds of third category’s employees of the Ministry of Education held a sit-in in front of the ministry to demand improvements in their living conditions.
Employees are demanding an increase in the overtime allowance from 30% to 70% of the basic salary, similar to other ministries, since the guard’s work usually extends for more than 16 hours a day. They also demand for a hazard pay, including their children in the Royal High Honor as children of education workers, a cash allowance for weekends, annual holidays, holidays and official holidays, the adoption of the “guardian” job title for those who work as employed guards, and the establishment of working hours.
