Labor Watch- The Ministry of Education issued a decision approving the payment of a field allowance to drivers working in the education directorates accompanying engineers and technicians whose work requires field work or visits to continuously follow up projects.
The decision stipulated that their exit days should not exceed twenty days per month and that their working hours should not be less than eight hours a day.
It is noteworthy that drivers working in education carried out an open strike in all governorates of the Kingdom since last Wednesday to demand an increase in the basic salary upon appointment, an allowance for overtime or dangerous work, the introduction of the driving profession within the dangerous professions, and its inclusion among the honorary positions of the education staff.
