Labor Watch - Dozens of Indian and Bangladeshi workers on Wednesday staged a sit-in at the Abwab Al Khair garment-manufacturing factory in Al-Hassan Industrial City demanding to pay their salaries for two months ago.
The workers said they did not receive their salaries for the months of November and December plus half of the last July salary until today.
The workers added that they suffer from a number of problems is the maltreatment of the management of the factory for them and the provision of meals, except bread or rice in some cases, despite deducting from their salaries as food-allowance.
The workers said they submitted a number of complaints to the Ministry of Labor, but that "the ministry offenses the factory and ask the workers to be patient until the improvement of financial conditions," without finding a radical solution to their problem.
