Labor Watch - The staff of the Royal Wings Company intends to deliver a protest note to Prime Minister Omar al-Razzaz because of the decision to close the company.
The staff appealed to Al Razzaz to follow up their case after "negligence the General Union for Air Transport, stressing that the decision threatens 97 employees with arbitrary dismissal."
They explained that the case began with the decision of former Prime Minister Hani al-Mulqi to open airlines belonging to the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, and the appointment of his son Fawzi as its head in addition to transfer the company to Aqaba.
The protesting staff confirmed that Fawzi al-Mulqi formed a team and proceeded to implement the decision, which later failed. The employees were informed of the decision to sell the Aqaba region's operational license in August 2018 and then transfer them with small differences in salaries, but they were informed last September that the Aqaba Authority is not considering appointing any of the former employees, and will only purchase the operating license at 785 thousand dinars.
