Labor Watch - The additional Teachers in the Syrian refugee camps in the regions of Azraq and Mrajib al-Fohud held a sit-in on Tuesday in front of the Directorate of Education for the second Zarqa, announcing an open strike to protest against the non-payment of their salaries for two months ago.
Teachers said in a press statement: "The strike spread in all the camps' schools as a result of delayed salaries payment and that has led the families of teachers to face a deep financial crisis"
Pointing out that the Ministry of Education blamed the international organizations and local banks, and when checking out with the banks it turns out that, the ministry did not transfer allocations, stressing that the strike continues until the payment of salaries.
Director of Education for the second Zarqa, Mohammad Al Jbour for his part confirmed that the ministry will pay the salaries of teachers as from next Thursday.
Jbour said in a press statement: "The allocations of teachers are from an external grant, noting that the Directorate has filed claims to the Ministry in preparation for disbursement."
