Labor Watch - The General Union of Workers in the Food Industries signed a collective labour contract with "Ghadir" Mineral Water Company which included 400 workers at a cost of half a million dinars.
The chairperson of the General Union of Food Industry Workers Ahmed Abu Khadra said that during the meetings, a consensus was reached that would satisfy all parties and culminated in the signed of this agreement.
The agreement provided for an annual increase in accordance with the applicable evaluation policy, the continuation of the payment of the remuneration of years of service at different rates, the payment of the thirteenth salary, various allowances, and bonuses, increasing the contribution of the company to health insurance besides establishing a provident fund.
The Minister of Labor, Samir Murad, said that the ministry has closely followed the dialogues between all parties to bring views closer together that resulted in the signing of the agreement, stressing the ministry's keenness to protect the rights of workers in all establishments, as well as the attention and care it gives to investors and employers.
For his part, the general manager of the company, Mazen Al-Kayali, said that common grounds have been reached between the two parties after joint efforts and coordination with the Ministry of Labor, praising the efforts of all parties to bring the views closer and solve the problem between the company and the union, expressing his satisfaction with the solutions have been reached.
