Labor Watch - Teachers at the Directorate of Education of the southern valleys, on Monday, staged a sit-in to protest against non-response to their demands regarding to solve the problem of transportation or provide housing for them.
"The teachers in the winter have to go to school at dawn and before the sun rises, as well as returning at night," the protesters said.
Some of the teachers indicated that they had been threatened with dismissal if they participated in the sit-in demanding the solution of the housing crisis and transportation allowance.
The protesters demanding the provision of housing because of the long distance and the seriousness of the road and the lack of adequate transportation and its high cost, reconsider the salary allowance to be commensurate with the long distances that the teacher cross to reach the work besides the cost-of-living, in addition to review the foundations of transport and recruitment to achieve justice, In accordance with the Karak teachers working in Jordan Valley, and give them priority 3 years of seniority as teachers in remote areas.
