Responding to the demands of public sector doctors
Labor Watch- The head of the Jordan Medical Association Dr. Ali Al-Obous said that Prime Minister Dr. Omar Al-Razzaz has instructed to respond to the Medical Association's demands who are working in the public sector and to follow the amendments approved by the association on the association law and the pension system which are in the Legislative Council of the Prime Minister.
Al Obous told in a press conference after the meeting, which brought together the prime minister and heads of health associations that the prime minister "instructed to increase the incentives of doctors, and to be linked of performance, and promised to increase the incentives' allocation in the budget for the next fiscal year, he also stressed that the value of the point may be more than ten Dinars which mean an increase of about 30%, the prime minister pointed out to increase of incentives for doctors in remote areas.
Abous added: "Regarding to the demands of the association, the prime minister stressed the need to increase appointments in the Ministry of Health to cover the termination of residents, vacancies, the allowance of retirees and the allowance of secondment as well as give priority in appointments for graduates of 2012-2013.
The head of the Jordan Medical Association Dr. Ali Al-Obous said that "with regard to the residents who were accepted at July session (about 400 doctors), Al-Razzaz instructed them to join the residency program before 7th of September and increase the appointments to cover the disengagement allowance of all residents, regardless of their number in addition to emphasizing on the need for constant dates of residency programs.
