Labor Watch - On Tuesday, the joint Ministerial Trade Union Committee held a meeting to discuss amendments to the civil service system at the Professional Association Complex. The committee agreed to adopt dialogue to reach the common understanding regarding to the civil service system.
"We seek in partnership with the government to adopt the civil service system, to reach understandings that serve the public employee, protect him and motivate him", said the President of the Professional Association Council, Dr. Ali Al Obous.
"Hope that we don't see the 2 percent rate set by the system to dispense with any employee," Obous said, adding that "the weak employee should be trained and rehabilitated, instead of being fired", pointing out that "The annual reports of staff performance are supposed to be evaluated by other managers to avoid the bossy-boss issue"
For his part, Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, Eng. Musa al-Maaytah said that the government is willing to engage in dialogue with all, and will not harm any employee or citizen. It is concerned with political and security stability, so it must move forward with administrative reform through the adoption of the civil service system and reaching compromises.
