Phenix Center and the Jordanian Labor Watch launch a campaign to mark Labor Day and Occupational Safety and Health Day
The Phenix Center for Economic and Information Studies and the Jordanian Labor Watch are launching the "Workers' Week" campaign from Wednesday, April 24 to May 3.
The campaign comes on the occasion of International Workers' Day, which falls on May 1, and the World Day for Occupational Safety and Health, which falls on April 28.
The campaign aims to shed light on the reality of occupational safety and health in the workplace, the conditions of male and female workers and the violations committed against them, and to raise awareness among workers and employers about labor legal texts.
The campaign includes the dissemination of social media messages ranging from tips for workers and employers to adhere to occupational safety and health standards to awareness messages, legal texts, and research reports.
Phenix Center and the Jordanian Labor Watch are expected to share the messages and awareness-raising reports with a number of local media outlets and social media sites (Facebook, X, Instagram) using the hashtags (Workers' Week, Occupational Health and Safety, Decent Work for All).
The campaign emphasizes the need to adhere to decent work standards, which suffer from a significant weakness in their application in the workplace, especially the provision of decent wages, social protections, occupational safety, and health, in addition to not violating workers' rights stipulated in the labor and social security laws.
