Jordan Labor Watch – A group of approximately 50 workers from Amman's Hay al-Tafaylah neighborhood continue to protest in front of the Royal Hashemite Court, demanding decent work opportunities, in a sit-in that now stretches into its 45th consecutive day.
Protesters claim the authorities have not been responsive to their demands, despite their being enshrined in Jordan’s constitution.
Speaking to Jordan Labor Watch, the workers—many of whom are university graduates—restated their intention to begin extending the sit-ins into the night starting next week, as an escalatory measure, should the government continue to ignore their plight.
