Dead Sea resort employees protesting against their dismissal from work
Labor Watch - Dozens of workers at a tourist resort in the Dead Sea on Sunday staged a sit-in protesting against the decision to dismiss them from work and without paying their salaries.
The protesters said that the management of the resort had dismiss 140 employees from work after they demanded of paying their salaries which are late since last September and also closed the resort on the pretext of maintenance work.
The protesters added that the decision to close the resort was unjustified because the work was going well. The protesters explained that the decision of dismissal caused great suffering for them and their families as they were deprived of their sole source of income, pointing out that most employees have obligations to banks and lending institutions, which causing them serious damage as a result of non-commitment to pay the installments to these institutions.
