Labour Watch - The security services prevented the employees of the Aqaba Railway Corporation from reaching the fourth circle to carry out a protest demanding to their labor rights.
The employees of the Aqaba Railway, which was transferred to be a company on 1 April 2018 by a decision of the Council of Ministers, demand to register the company formally as companies controller , adopting a committee of employees to participate in developing the financial and administrative system of the company and return what was deducted from the salaries of employees (overtime) while the most of the employees lost 100 to 200 dinars of their salaries they have been receiving for more than 17 years.
The employees also demanded for compensate them fairly if they want to terminate their employment and give the employees 100 dinars in the occasion of Eid Al Fitr from the Aqaba Commission while the employees of the Commission were received 100 dinars and excluding the employees of the Railway Corporation, knowing that the salaries of the employees of the Corporation are paying by the Aqaba Commission.
